How can we create real human experiences, or actions, through the playing of Minecraft?

One aspect of Minecraft that translates into the real world is its player community. Whether you are playing with other players or reading a tutorial, you become part of a community that exists outside of the game.

Gee points out that a community of persons with similar participation is an affinity group. This class is a testament real human experience and actions can be facilitated out of playing Minecraft. During this course we have collaborated on several levels in class and outside of class. The game has fostered understanding, growth and social interaction. The integration of this type of course in a curriculum for children, and on an undergraduate level will help others to appreciate that Minecraft can foster learning in a variety of learning environments.

Minecraft has inspired an active community online. Participants share videos of the worlds that they have crafted, and offer insights and advice to others. This communal interaction is an example of real human actions resulting from the virtual experiences generated from the game.
